Golf and rugby sevens were added to the program for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics by officials today in Copenhagen.The sports will debut at the Games in Rio de Janeiro. The International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board in August recommended both for inclusion from a list of seven prospects. Golf got 63 yes votes and 27 no votes, IOC President Jacques Rogge said at today’s meeting. Rugby got 81 yes votes, and 8 no, he said.“In time, I think it will prove your votes were very wise,” Rogge said. “We all look forward to competition at the highest level in 2016 and 2020.”
