That proverbial 8-ball Greg Norman was afraid of running into? Well, the International captain and his team were directly behind it midway through the second day of the Presidents Cup.With the U.S. filling the scoreboards with red, white and blue flags during Friday's fourball action at sun-splashed Harding Park Golf Club, a rout seemed in the making. Leading in four of the six matches and tied in another, the Americans looked primed to take a four-point lead into Saturday's third round of play. Then the fog hovering over the Internationals lifted.Spurred by comeback wins by Ernie Els/Mike Weir and Vijay Singh/Tim Clark, the International team earned three points, got out from behind the 8-ball and head into Saturday down just 6½-5½.The teams play five foursomes matches (alternate shot) and five fourball matches Saturday. In the first match, the International's Goosen/Villegas meet Mickelson/O'Hair. USA's Leonard/Furyk face Els/Scott in the second match. In the third match, Singh/Allenby face Cink/Mahan.In the fourth match, USA captain Fred Couples put his big guns, Woods and Stricker, against Weir/Clark. In the final match, Yang/Ishikawa stay together to face Kenny Perry and Johnson.
