Writer/director Tyler Perry celebrated his 40th birthday at the Toronto Film Festival in style on Saturday night with a song from Mary J. Blige and greetings from Oprah Winfrey and Mariah Carey.
Carey jetted in from Las Vegas, where she was performing two weekend shows, to help launch her new film Precious, but Perry was the man of the moment at the launch party.
After declaring his new film, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, would be America's number one movie on Sunday, Lions Gate studio bosses sprung a surprise on the filmmaker.
